Boats, Bridges and Buildings
With the exception of one, all of the photographs in this series are of Chicago. Most are shot from a Dehler 34 sailboat.
After fiver years of racing sailboats, I finally conceded in doing the dreaded river trip (spring & fall). Dreaded because sailors may endure at least five hours of freezing rain and wind, waiting for 23 bridges to rise.
They must be on the lookout for collisions with other boats, bridges or trees. Invariably someone requires a tow due to engine or some other failure.
After returning from the trip I began assembling this series without prior knowledge as to what they would be.
Using the same image multiple times I have arrrived at a completely different place from where I began.
